This week was our family’s first foray into public school. After a wonderful year of homeschool for Kindergarten we decided that Isaac would benefit from the increased social interaction and chance to work on listening to other adults ;) that school on base here in Sicily would allow him. The first week has been a huge success, with Isaac declaring “It was the best day EVER” after hopping off of the bus on Monday.
After the first “School Spirit Friday” today Isaac asked to read the calendar for the upcoming month to check on classmates’ birthdays and other special dates. He also finished eating his lunch. Apparently eating lunch at 11 when he is used to eating at 2 is taking some getting used to. We’re a work in progress.
