We like to surprise the kids with the locations of our outings. The first time we kept a destination a secret was a few years ago when we drove from Northern California, all the way down to that well known Magic destination. Our plan was to put on a Disney movie and ask the kids if they wanted to see the castle that sparkles into place in the credits. The plan flopped. “Huh?” they said. First lesson… know your audience and their knowledge of the intended destination a little better! Over the years our skills at surprise have improved and there is nothing better than those excited little hops and lit up eyes as they ask “Really?? Are we really going there?”
