Snowy Mt. Hood, a Day on Film: Fuji Superia 800

Overexposure. Film likes it.

A lot.

Like, A LOT. If I had been shooting this situation on digital I would have been slightly underexposing to preserve all those white tones. But I knew that film wants light, so I metered once, set an exposure that felt much.too.bright. and shot. When the scans came back, I applied a one click edit to add a touch of magenta and a little contrast, and these images were good to go. I’ve made myself a sign for my bulletin board, as shooting film feels so counterintuitive to me. The sign has one word.

Overexpose.
