As Atticus Says

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.” –To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee

When you know you’ll lose, but you do it anyway because it’s the right thing to do. When you know you can’t prevent the imminent death of a being, but you step in and care with love anyway, because love is never wrong. When the power imbalance is obvious, but you decide to hold out and speak up, in your small way anyway, trusting in others to do the same.

Our small ways matter. Our practical courage touches lives. No matter what.
