Don’t position your subject with their bent legs as the closest thing to the camera. I had other shots that were “cuter” but my thighs were just not acceptable for public display. Yikes. I haven’t been able to get back into the self-portrait groove. I really need to… the kiddos will appreciate it someday (and
Isaac said he did, at least. Grayden proved he did by being upset with me for the following 3 days. All is well now, thankfully….

[portfolio_slideshow: thumbs, true] The first day of our workshop. We chatted with CJ about confidence, posing and how our personalities effect our photography. After a few portfolio reviews and an amazing lunch (El Diablo on Broadway) we shot our first round of models. I spent most of the time with the spunky little red- headed

[portfolio_slideshow: thumbs, true] I flew out to Denver for a photography workshop (with CJ Nicolai) today. It has been amazing meeting and spending time with 9 of the most talented, kind and funny women I have ever met. We did a walk around Downtown Denver in the evening and saw some pretty sketchy characters. Apparently,

Trader Joe’s trip today :) I love how the petals are rolled into tubes. Just an extra kid pic.
What a brave kiddo. On the drive to base today Isaac asked “are we going to get shots?” Yes, in fact, we were. He told me “but I don’t want to get shots. I only need 2” (he had 2 shots during our last immunization visit.) When we got to the clinic he was such
I think I love you. In other news, Isaac is apparently mildly allergic to grass. After spending 2 minutes laying on the lawn he developed a rash. Poor guy.

So this is a cheat. I actually didn’t take any pictures at all today. We hosted a 30th birthday party with a make your own pizza bar, complete with a dessert version, and I spent the day cleaning and chopping. I did play with processing a little bit today, though. Clickinmoms just released a new

[portfolio_slideshow; thumbs, true] The doorknobs in our house are egg shaped and it is driving me crazy. C.r.a.z.y. Grayden has figured out how to open them and there isn’t any readily available child-proofing solution on the market. I can seriously grab him out of the bathroom twenty times in a row and he’ll head back

I think we’re seriously working on the switch to 1 nap a day this time. For the past several days Grayden has been napping for 3-4 hours each morning. This morning he slept from 9:15- 1:45. Crazy!

Grayden is picking up words left and right these days. Yesterday he pulled out “b’oons!!” when we were ordering the balloons at the floral counter in Safeway. Isaac used to say “balloon” exactly the same way and I love that it’s now Grayden’s turn for the adorable pronunciation.
The man of the house turned 30 years old today. I turn 31 in October, and he rarely lets me forget how much older I am. We had a nice dinner out with friends and cupcakes at home. Mmm.
Today I made a batch of marinara/pasta sauce. While I was cooking I was thinking… a jar of pasta sauce costs around $3.00. After the cost of the tomato and basil plants, the water to grow them to picking size, onions and garlic, not to mention my time… I think it’s cheaper to buy it
