Recently, I read Peter Hurley’s book, The Headshot: The Secrets to Creating Amazing Headshot Portraits. While I liked the portrait I had been using as my headshot, it didn’t communicate the aspects of my personality that I most wanted to present to the online world. So, I set out to create a new headshot that maintained the quietness of my previous image, but also portrayed me as a bit more competent and confident. From wardrobe, to light, to pose- there is a lot that goes into a headshot. After several location and light changes, and a few interruptions from my ‘assistant,’ I came up with the final image.
