Creamy, grainy and soft with just a hint of sharpness. It’s an interesting combination. I think I prefer Ilford Delta 3200 on medium format. The grain is prettier, and smoother in the bokeh. In other news, I decided my exposure had improved enough that I had earned my autofocus 35mm. The Nikon F100 arrived yesterday, and wow, it’s a lot easier to shoot through a roll with auto film advance. When I manually advance the film, it feels like every step in the process is so involved and tactile that I have to ‘save’ the unused frames for later, when I will again have time to focus intently on making an image. Which is good and bad, but I am enjoying the different experience of a more automated film camera.
