On our summer vacation this year, we spent our first few nights in Ithaca New York, then drove across the state, and Vermont, to Meredith New Hampshire on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. The drive was beautiful, but, let me tell you… don’t get off the highway at the wrong exit in rural New York. The exits are so far apart that you will add a lot (a LOT) of time to your drive in correcting your route. The angst of the additional time from course correction may have been exacerbated by my underestimation of the time it would take for our side trip to Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame, as well as thinking the overall drive time would be less than it was. It was one of those days that was a comedy of errors. But, maple creemees in Vermont made it all better.
