Shenandoah

From the time that we learned we’d be moving to the DC area I was looking forward to fall. For the past 6 years we have lived in very mild climates, where the leaves don’t really change colors… they gradually fade to brown and fall off the trees. It’s almost as though they drop down as an afterthought. Virginia, though, has fall colors in abundance. We drove through Shenandoah National Park over Veterans Day weekend, which was about a week past the peak color, but it was still beautiful. I’d recommend planning a trip for very early November, or late October, so that you can see the brilliant reds and bright yellows that I missed out on!
